An Israeli citizen is entitled to submit a request for a certificate verifying his/her citizenship. An individual who is not a citizen (i.e. someone who renounced their citizenship in the past or was a resident of temporary or permanent status) can submit a request for a certificate verifying a lack of Israeli citizenship.
The request can be submitted by appearing at the Consulate in person or through the mail. The certificate will be received at the Consulate 4-6 months from the date the request is made and will be forwarded to the address of the applicant.
Submitting a request at the Consulate

You must:
- Bring a valid photo ID
- A completed
Request for a Certificate Attesting Citizenship or Noncitizenship (2.05 MB) - Pay $21 for the certificate by cash, credit card or money order payable to "Consulate General of Israel."
Submitting a request by Mail
If you are unable to appear at the Consulate in person it is possible to submit your request by mail. To do so, you must provide the following:
- A completed
Request for a Certificate Attesting Citizenship or Noncitizenship (2.05 MB), signed in the presence of a notary public - $21 in cash, credit card or money order made payable to "Consulate General of Israel." To pay via Credit Card please complete the following form
Credit Card Payment Form (1.74 MB) - Return address, clear and complete, together with a contact phone number.
