In most cases this service is only provided to those who left Israel many years ago and whose citizenship status was unclear upon leaving Israel.
There is no charge for this service and it can take up to six months.
It is possible to make your request either at the Consulate in person or via the mail.
Submitting a request at the Consulate
You must arrive at the Consulate during our reception hours with the following items:- An official form of identification: Israeli or foreign passport, driver's license or Teudat Zehut.
Clarification of Citizenship Status (1.29 MB)- The travel document with which you originally emigrated from Israel. Alternatively, the permission or entry stamp of the country to which you immigrated.
- If you left Israel before or during 1952 you must present the exit permit with which you left Israel. If you no longer possess this document, you can instead present documents proving settlement abroad from the year 1952, such as: an entry permit to the US or any other country, work permits, school records, and the like.
Submitting a request by Mail
You must send the following items to the Consulate by mail:- A copy of an official form of identification: Israeli or foreign passport, driver's license or Teudat Zehut.
