According to Israeli law, every Israeli citizen must update any change in marital status such as divorce, even if the change was made outside of Israel.
Updating Divorce in the Consulate
To change your marital status you must bring with you to the consulate a valid Israeli ID. If you were divorced before January 1, 1989 the original certificate must be presented. If you were divorced after January 1,1989 the original certificate must be authenticated by an Apostille seal. The Apostille seal is issued by the department of state in which you were divorced. The state that issued the divorce certificate is the only state that can authenticate the document with an Apostille seal.

All forms not signed at the consulate MUST be signed in front of a notary public
You must send the following:
- If you were divorced before January 1, 1989 the original certificate must be sent. If you were divorced after January 1, 1989, the original divorce certificate must be authenticated by an Apostille seal and sent.

Notification of Divorce (666.93 kB) form, signed before a notary public. - If you also need to extend your passport, you will need to send it along with an
