Information Officer at the Consulate General of Israel in New York
Asaf Selinger is an Information Officer at the Consulate General of Israel in New York.
Prior to his service at the Consulate, Mr. Selinger worked as a reporter for the Israeli newspaper Maariv in Jerusalem, covering education and the environment. He was also a reporter for the IDF radio Galei Zahal, reporting on environmental issues. Mr. Selinger took part in the news coverage of some of Israel’s major events of the past decade, including the Second Lebanon War, the Second Intifada, PM Sharon’s rise to power in 2001, and his sad health demise. During Israel’s disengagement from Gaza in 2005, Mr. Selinger worked as a news reporter in the West Bank settlements of Homesh and Sanur. His last assignment in Israel before joining the Consulate was the terrorist attack on the Yeshiva “Merkaz Ha’Rav” in Jerusalem.
Mr. Selinger is a graduate of Hebrew University in Jerusalem, where he earned a B.A in Philosophy.
