Director for the Bureau of the Consul General Francine Raubvogel

Francine Raubvogel is the Chief of Staff /Director of the Bureau for the Consul General of Israel in New York.  She began her career in this position serving the then Consul General Ambassador Colette Avital and has since served Consuls General Alon Pinkas, Shmuel Sisso, Aryeh Mekel, Asaf Shariv, and presently Ido Aharoni.  As Chief of Staff for the Consul General, she is responsible for initiating and coordinating the Consul General's social and political interactions, including community relations and inter-diplomatic corps activities; organizing activities for visiting dignitaries; and serve as liaison between the Consul General and various local, national and international officials and organizations. In addition to working with various ethnic groups on events and activities of inter-cultural exchange, and with religious groups on developing interfaith communication on matters relating to Israel, she supervises the staff, edits public relations material, and creates, plans, and executes all aspects of special events.

Prior to joining the Consulate, Francine served as the Associate Director of the Institute for Public Affairs, Union Of Orthodox Jewish Congregations of America.  There she established and implemented political action and public awareness programs.  Through heavy contact with government officials, United Nations ambassadors, and political action groups, she worked on the development of forums between national and international political figures and community leaders in the tri-state area.  Encouraging grassroots efforts, she organized lobbying missions to Washington, D.C. providing community leaders the opportunity to speak out on issues important to the Jewish community and Israel.  In addition, she edited and distributed monthly Briefings and Policy Analysis to the national membership of the organization.

An honors graduate of Queens College-City University of New York, with a B.A. in Communications/Mass Media and a focus on political science, Francine has acquired experience in radio broadcasting and engineering with her own syndicated program.  In addition, she has worked on several political campaigns over the years within the New York area building a network of contacts and resources. Her public relations expertise has been sought over the years with regard to community relations, special events, marketing, and philanthropic endeavors.
