Hila Elroy

Hila Elroy is the Advisor to the Consul General at the Consulate General of Israel in New York.


As the Advisor to the Consul General, she is responsible for speech writing, editing and writing political briefings and assists the Consul General with Public Relations and interactions.

Hila is a graduate of the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, with a B.A in Political Science and International Relations. She is currently a Ph.D candidate at the Hebrew University, and experts in the Research of Ideology. In summer 2008, Hila published her first working-paper regarding the academic boycott initiatives in Britain – “Anglo – First, Jewish – Next? An Introspection of Jewish Identity as Mirrored in the Academic Boycott Initiative”.

Prior to joining the Consulate, Hila served as a Research Assistant at the Israeli Democracy Institute and as a Students Advisor and Teaching Assistant at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem and the Interdisciplinary Center in Herzelia. She represented the State of Israel as a member of two international delegations; in 1995 to Malta, on behalf of the Ministry of Trade and Commerce and in 1998 to Austria, on behalf of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Education.
Hila served is a lieutenant in the IDF.

Hila was born in the city of Ra’anana, lived in Jerusalem and currently lives in New York with her husband.
