About the Consulate
The Consulate General of Israel in New York represents the State of Israel in New York, Connecticut, and Northern New Jersey.
Dean Movshovitz, Director of Film and Media at the Office for Cultural Affairs at the Consulate General of Israel in New York.
Prior to his service at the Consulate, Dean worked with the production team of the Tel Aviv – Los Angeles Master Class for two years, as well as on the staff of the 13th International Student Film Festival in Tel Aviv. In addition, he has worked as a freelance writer for the Tel Aviv Cinematheque's official magazine, specializing in Israeli Film.
Dean earned his B.A. in Film Studies from Tel-Aviv University, concentrating on Screenwriting.
In the Office of Cultural Affairs which deals with all aspects of the Israeli arts, Dean focuses on projects featuring Israeli cinema and is the main liaison and contact to the media covering cultural related affairs.
